Prepare a WhatsApp blasting with AI (you send it)

Last updated

Your AI agent can do the fiddly part of a WhatsApp blasting — checking who it will reach and writing a clean draft — while you keep the one decision that matters: whether to actually send it.

Why it’s two steps

This is a safety design, not a limitation. The agent prepares the blasting; a person clicks Send. That way a message never goes out to your customers because of a misunderstanding — you always see the final draft and the recipient count first, and sending stays a deliberate human click. The agent simply cannot press Send for you.

Step 1 — Preview the audience first

Before you write a word, ask the agent who the blasting would reach. For example:

“How many contacts have the label ramadan-2025? Show me a few.”

You’ll get a count and a small sample, so you know the reach before you commit to a draft. Adjust the label or filter until the audience looks right.

Step 2 — Ask the agent to draft the blasting

Now ask it to build the draft. Tell it four things:

  1. A title — for your own reference; customers don’t see it
  2. The message you want to send
  3. The inbox to send from
  4. The audience — for example, contacts with a certain label

For example:

“Draft a WhatsApp blasting titled Ramadan promo, from the Mampu WhatsApp inbox, to everyone labelled ramadan-2025, with this message: …”

The agent saves it as a draft in your account. Nothing has been sent.

Step 3 — Review the draft in Blasting

Open Blasting in your dashboard and find the draft the agent made. Check that:

  • The message reads exactly how you want it
  • The recipient count matches what you expected in Step 1
  • The right inbox is selected

Step 4 — Click Send yourself

When you’re happy, click Send. This is the step the agent can’t do — it’s yours on purpose. The blasting goes out only after your click.

Before you send a WhatsApp blast

WhatsApp has its own rules, so a blast needs two things in place first:

  • An eligible WhatsApp inbox connected to your account
  • An approved WhatsApp template for the message

If either is missing, set it up in the dashboard — connecting channels and inboxes is still a dashboard job, not something the agent can do yet.

If the agent says it “can’t” or “is missing a permission”

Blasting work needs the Draft blasting permission on the key. If the agent can’t see or draft blasting, add that permission in Settings → API & Agents — or leave it off on purpose if you’d rather keep blasting fully hands-off. See What your AI agent can and can’t do.
