What your AI agent can and can’t do

Your AI agent acts in your account through a scoped access key — the permission slip you created in Create and manage your agent access keys. What it can touch is entirely up to you, and a couple of important actions always stay in your hands.

Permissions decide everything

A brand‑new key does nothing until you grant it a permission. You turn permissions on one by one in Settings → API & Agents, so the agent can only reach the parts of your account you’ve chosen. Grant a little, grant a lot — it’s your call, and you can change it any time.

What it can do

Once you grant the matching permissions, the agent can:

  • Handle conversations — read and reply, assign, resolve, set priority, and add labels.
  • Manage contacts — find, create, update, and label people.
  • Read reports — pull your numbers and summaries.
  • Keep AI Knowledge current — view, add, edit, approve, and remove entries.
  • Manage WhatsApp templates — so your approved messages stay ready to use.
  • Operate flow agents — run and publish them.
  • Prepare blasting drafts — set up a blast for you to review.

The two hard limits

Two things the agent can never do on its own, no matter which permissions you grant — these are built into the system:

  • Flows are intent‑only. The agent can operate and publish your flow agents, but it never sees or edits the flow diagram. You design the flow yourself in the Flow Designer; the agent just runs what you built.
  • Blasting is draft‑only. The agent prepares the blast — audience, message, timing — but a human clicks Send. Nothing goes out until you review it and press the button.

What “missing a permission” means

If the agent says it’s missing a permission, that’s not a bug — it means the key hasn’t been granted that ability yet. You have two good options:

  1. Add it — go to Settings → API & Agents, open the key, and turn on the permission it needs.
  2. Leave it off — on purpose. If you’d rather the agent never touch that area, do nothing. The limit is doing its job.

Every action counts toward your plan

Each action the agent takes counts toward your plan’s monthly allowance. On the keys list, the Calls column shows how many successful actions each key has run — only successful actions count, so failed attempts are free.

When you reach the allowance, the agent pauses and says the quota is exceeded. It resets automatically at your next billing renewal. Need more before then? Upgrade your plan to raise the allowance — a downgrade or same‑tier change won’t reset it early.

Not yet available

For now, a few things still live in the dashboard and can’t be done by the agent:

  • Sending a blast autonomously — you always click Send.
  • Building a flow from scratch — design new flows in the Flow Designer.
  • Connecting channels or inboxes — set these up in the dashboard.
  • AI‑generating knowledge — the agent can edit and approve entries, but not auto‑generate them.
