Migrating an existing WhatsApp number to Mampu AI

Last updated

Already using your number on the WhatsApp API — for example with another provider or platform — and want to move it to Mampu AI? Migrating is two steps: first turn off two-factor authentication on the number, then register it using the setup guide. A number can only be active on one platform at a time, so it moves over to Mampu AI once you finish.

Not migrating? If your number is on the WhatsApp Business app, see Connecting a WhatsApp inbox. For a brand-new number, see Registering a WhatsApp official number.

Before you start

  • Access to the Facebook account that has access to the Business Portfolio which owns the number.
  • The number is currently registered on the WhatsApp API (WhatsApp official) with another provider or platform.

1. Turn off two-factor authentication (2FA)

  1. Log in to the Facebook account that has access to the Business Portfolio.
  2. Open the WhatsApp Manager settings: business.facebook.com/latest/settings/whatsapp_account
  3. Turn off two-factor authentication (2FA) for the WhatsApp number.

2. Register the number in Mampu AI

With 2FA disabled, follow Registering a WhatsApp official number to register the number in Mampu AI. Use the same details (business portfolio and phone number) as your existing WhatsApp account so everything carries over correctly.

You’re done

Once the connection completes, your existing WhatsApp number runs on Mampu AI. Incoming messages appear in your inbox and your AI agent can reply. Manage the inbox anytime under Settings → Inboxes.
