Troubleshooting your AI agent

Last updated

Most of the time, when your AI agent says it “can’t do that,” nothing is broken — it’s the safety design working as intended. This guide walks you through the messages you’re most likely to see and the plain fix for each. In almost every case the answer is a quick change in Settings → API & Agents, or simply understanding a limit that’s there on purpose.

“Missing a permission”

Your agent’s key does nothing until you grant a permission. So if it says it’s missing one — for example, it can’t read reports or update a contact — that just means that box isn’t turned on yet.

  1. Go to Settings → API & Agents.
  2. Open the key your agent is using.
  3. Turn on the permission it asked for, and save.

If you didn’t mean to let it do that thing, leave the permission off — that’s a valid choice, not a fault. See What your AI agent can and can’t do for what each permission covers.

“Quota exceeded” or the agent just stopped

Every action your agent takes counts toward your plan’s monthly allowance. When that allowance is used up, the agent pauses and tells you the quota is exceeded.

  • You can see how much each key has used in the Calls column in Settings → API & Agents.
  • The allowance resets automatically at your next billing renewal — you can wait it out.
  • Need more room sooner? Upgrade your plan to raise the allowance. A downgrade or a same-tier change won’t reset it early.

Only successful actions count, so failed attempts don’t eat into your allowance.

“It won’t send my blasting” or “it can’t show my flow diagram”

Both of these are by design, not bugs:

  • Your agent can prepare a blasting for you, but a human clicks Send. Review the draft in the dashboard and send it yourself.
  • Your agent can operate your flow agents, but it never sees or edits the flow diagram. To change how a flow is built, open the Flow Designer in your dashboard.

Connection refused or unauthorized

If the agent can’t connect at all, it’s almost always the key or the Account ID:

  • The key may be mistyped, expired, or revoked — check it in Settings → API & Agents, and create a fresh one if needed.
  • The Account ID may be missing or wrong.
  • Re-run the connect command exactly as shown in Connect Claude Code to your account, making sure both the key and the Account ID are correct.

WhatsApp template actions fail

To work with WhatsApp templates, your agent needs a WhatsApp Cloud inbox connected and admin access on your account. Also remember that new templates wait for Meta’s approval before they can be used — that delay is on Meta’s side, not Mampu AI’s.

Things it can’t do yet

A few tasks still live only in your dashboard — the agent will politely decline these: sending a blast on its own, building a flow from scratch, connecting new channels or inboxes, and AI-generating knowledge. Do these yourself in the dashboard for now.
